Lancaster undergrad gets creative coaching.

Chris Will, The Point's 2019 summer intern

Undergraduate Chris Will joined us through July and August for an internship in our creative department. Chris is studying Advertising and Marketing at Lancaster University and is about to move into his final year. He joined us after spending most of the past year on an industrial placement at Oracle, where he worked within their communications team producing internal comms initiatives and campaigns.

We helped him complete his placement year by immersing him in the day-to-day life of an agency creative department and mentoring his creative abilities. “I was looking for something at the other end of the spectrum to the corporate comms environment of Oracle” said Chris. “It was a complete eye-opener for me at The Point. I never realised that a real-world creative agency would be this eclectic in its output, let alone as hectic and challenging. They don’t explain this reality to you at uni. My time as a junior creative flew by and I learnt some really big lessons in creative thinking and effective delivery.”

During his time with us Chris scripted, storyboarded and produced two case study movies, contributed thinking on two new business pitches and got fully involved in creative concept work for key agency client Corteva. Oh yes, and never made a single cup of tea!

It was great to add Chris to our long list of successful internships and we wish him well in his final year at Lancaster. Take away what we taught you and stay creative. We know you will, Chris!
