Norfolk Community Safety Partnership

Awareness campaign

Calling out people exploitation.

People exploitation is a very concerning problem for many communities across the UK. It’s form includes modern slavery, human trafficking, child sexual exploitation, cuckooing and county lines operations. And sadly, it’s children, young people and vulnerable adults that are increasingly being recruited through coercion, violence and intimidation.

The problem often goes unnoticed, partly because the criminal groups behind it are becoming increasingly more organised, but also because most of us simply don’t know what the signs are.

Norfolk Community Safety Partnership, with the remit to tackle crime and community safety in the county, approached us to deliver a long-term overarching idea to raise awareness of the issue to better protect and safeguard those who may be vulnerable and at risk.

‘Be Aware. It’s Out There.’ acts as a simple and direct wakeup call that the problem is very real and happening on our doorstep. It prompts learning on how to spot the signs and encourages community wide responsibility to call it out.

As well devising the idea and direction, our campaign deliverables included a user guide and toolkit of supporting assets for use by the partnership’s internal teams and partners to consistently deliver this single-minded anti-exploitation message moving forward.
